elixir-headis a Philadelphia based American rapper, song writer, DJ and performer. He also heads a sound and talent staffing company, Sound Caterers, LLC and a member of world-reknown DJ crew Skratch Makaniks. Among other projects he served as MC for Hollertronix with Diplo (Mad Decent records founder/producer) and DJ Low Budget who are credited with helping expose him in his early career. He has also been contracted as emcee and brand ambassador for such brands as LVMH Moet Hennessy-Louis Vuitton S.A. and Red Bull among many many others.

Born in New Mexico to a mother who was an US military service member, MC Elixir lived throughout the state side US as well as spending several years in Europe. The constant transitioning allowed him to learn how to adapt to different environments and cultures. Moving to Philadelphia, PA as a pre-teen with it’s streets filled with poverty, drugs and violence shaped his life in a way that no period had done prior. “I proudly earned my stripes in Philly. That is where I learned how hard and short life can be and is why I choose to advocate and promote celebrating life.”

As with so many others while in school, he dabbled in rapping, singing, class clowning and whatever else could be done to garner attention. However, Elixir’s professional career as an artist began during a short stint in the US Air Force where he recorded music with friends and performed locally at showcases and open-mic events. Word travelled fast about his ability to freestyle, battle rap and put on a good overall show to the point he became the “IT” guy for shows and events in the Mid-Atlantic US region. The personality aspect happened as he was asked to join the Skratch Makaniks Crew ’00 & Hollertronix ’03 as DJ’s sought his assistance as a hype-man due to his diverse music knowledge and infectious interaction with crowds.

While traveling and cutting his teeth as an artist, Lix was able to couple his experience with a Marketing degree from Temple University’s Fox School of Business. Performing several times a week in the nightlife circuit he was afforded the opportunity to emcee at various party destinations from casinos in Las Vegas and Atlantic City to celebrity functions during All-Star weekend of each of the major sport leagues.

During his career as an artist and event personality, MC Elixir has worked with The Roots, Wu-Tang Clan, Socialite turned DJ, Paris Hilton; British musician MIA; Hip-Hop and Pop Icon Sean “P-Diddy” Combs and world-class DJ acts such as Jazzy Jeff and many other notable artists. Lix, as he is also referred to, has recorded and been featured on numerous records and mixtape projects with the likes of DJ Excel (skratch makaniks/Alfa Paare), the Street Bass Anthems series with dub-step and grime producers Dev 79 & Starkey of Seclusiasis/Slit Jockey records just to name a few.

elixir-headMC Elixir also maintains a full schedule as an emcee or brand ambassador for numerous companies and brands such as Toyota/Scion to various beverage brands and national retailers like Macy’s where he is contracted to enthrall potential customers and promote various product lines. In the capacity of an emcee, he has demonstrated the interpersonal skills necessary to engage crowds of all types and produce excitement all whilst delivering key speaking points and educating consumers.

You can be sure of one thing. When Elixir takes to the stage in whatever capacity the occasion calls for there is an explosion of intensity, passion and pure energy that is absolutely contagious.
